Vox ac30cc2 tremolo not working3/24/2024 The AC30CC2x with the blue speakers sounds essentially the same as the CC1 with a Gold in it, it's just a little heavier and slightly bigger. If you're looking for the most versatile and portable amp at a price, I'd suggest finding one of the AC30CC1's (no longer made, as far as I can tell), switching the reverb tank to an accutronics, switching the speaker to a Celestion Gold, and having Don or Lyle do the cap/resistor/transformer upgrades (unless you're good enough at ampbuilding to do them). It's time for you to get your hands (and guitars) on these and make your own decisions based on what they sound like in your hands. The CC is not going to be as durable/fixable as the HW, though, switches are lower grade for instance. The CC has both the normal and top boost channels, blendable, hot/warm bias switching, and more/less filter cap switching, so it's got a lot more variation in tone available than the HW. Recall also that in both the CC and the HW designs, there's reverb (I rarely use it, but the HW is first rate tube driven reverb, the CC is acceptable solid state reverb, at least after you upgrade the reverb tank to a $25 accutronics) and tremolo as a switchable option on the main channel(s) instead of available only in the separate low-gain tremolo channel in the classic JMI-type 3-channel AC30 (again, tube driven tremolo in the HW, solid state in the CC). Seigler, an AC30HW has a bit darker voice than a JMI, but it's no less complex sounding.
